Introduction - ScooterX

Hi everybody,
I thought I should introduce myself to the "tribe". I'm really more of a "manga" guy, than "anime" but I guess there's a lot of crossover. (or, maybe I'm in the wrong tribe? is there a manga artist tribe?)
I've been drawing comics, in a manga style, for about 5 years now. My interest is in yaoi -- a sub-genre of shojo (girls) comics.
A couple of my comics have been published in anthologies, but I'm still very much a beginner. I'm finally getting good enough to begin to see what I need to learn.
Finally, here's a picture I did in my sketchbook today, while thinking about Valentine's day.

Most people will argue that using either term is a semantics thing, though I honestly hold the thought that if you do something in an anime style, you'd best be animating it.

At any rate, I run a manga tribe myself, which is both about the books, subjects, and artists; so you're more than welcome there, too.

I like the piece you linked to, it's not bad at all ^_^ What titles have you been published under? I'd be interested to see, it's always nifty to meet someone who's had their work published!

Nice to meet you, Scooter, and welcome to the tribe -^_^-

thanks Arisa. (i always think of the anime style as simpler and at least "possible to be animated" and usually involves color, rather than the manga style which is more detailed and usually b/w).

My comics are yaoi (boy x boy stories). the first was published in a convention anthology for Yaoi-con. The second was published in "Shonen", an anthology of American created comics in the yaoi style. the info is here, along with a sample page of my drawings (for mature audiences, only) you can see it here: www.shonencomics.com
Shonen is currently for sale in a number of SF/Bay Area book stores (and online). the other book was only sold at the convention.
